Welcome to 2015! I hope this year
brings you much to feel good about. Only you know what feels good to you, so why not resolve to do what feels good?!
Yoga makes me feel good! Many years ago, I fell off a horse that was
standing perfectly still. I reached down
to tighten the girth and…plop! Just like
that, I landed in a heap on the ground.
That was the day I started practicing yoga. I began with the
determination to find my center of balance, but continued because it feels so good!
Yoga offers many benefits for riders. Flexibility, strength, ease of
movement, focus, body awareness, centeredness, grounding, increased confidence, peace and harmony
with one’s mind and body… these are just a few. If we’re not in
harmony with our own bodies, how can we travel in harmony with our horses'?
Just recently, while searching the
internet for yoga videos, I came upon a website that I love: Yoga With Adriene.
Adriene is ridiculously fun and positive…
plus she offers several great yoga videos for free. I've really enjoyed the ones I've tried. Each is about 20 minutes long. Just enough to get my day started off on a wonderful note.

P.S. Although the literal meaning of namaste is 'I bow to you,' it has a much deeper meaning that recognizes the divine nature in each of us. So it's really more like 'the best in me greets the best in you.' Beautiful, don't you think?
